Abstract
Introduction: Chronic pelvic discomfort that lasts longer than six months is the hallmark of pelvic congestion syndrome (PCS), which is frequently linked to ovarian or uterine varicose veins. This study aims to evaluate the outcomes of EVLA as a treatment for PCS by targeting the reflux ovarian vein.
Case description: This study reports on a 44-year-old woman presenting with pelvic pain and dyspareunia and evaluates the outcomes of endovenous laser ablation (EVLA) as a treatment for PCS. Upon clinical assessment, catheter-directed venography revealed dilatation and reflux in the left ovarian vein. Subsequently, EVLA, an endovascular therapy for chronic venous insufficiency, was performed, leading to the resolution of symptoms without complications.
Conclusion: EVLA demonstrates promise to treat ovarian vein reflux in PCS.
